It has been almost 3 months since Donald Trump was sworn in as President and the world is still here and functioning. the sore losers haven’t slowed down in their hate and violence yet, but there is still hope. If Gary Johnson had won, things would be much better now. Or, given that the Congress is such a pain, maybe not. I can dream however.
I spent all morning running around buying various small items that I need, mostly at the Army and Air Force Exchange – I am retired Air Force so I can shop there. Tomorrow I have to do grocery shopping, and get the next chapter of GENERATION UPON GENERATION posted on my other blog site: christophercolesite.wordpress.com. And Friday I have a morning meeting with the Pima County Election Integrity Commission. Last night I bullied the chair of the Pima County Libertarian Party a bit and he got the letter to reappoint me to the EIC done. Once the Board of Supervisors acts on it, I am good for another two years.
It looks like I can finally start saving for the Libertarian party convention in New Orleans next summer. And I should even be able to save while sill getting TTRPG material for the campaign I want to run. I have decided to not do a SHADOWRUN campaign even though I love the system but instead I am going to use the Harn setting and the GURPS rules.
I joined another veterans group, this one based upon a squadron I was assigned to back in 1971 for several months. It seems just a place to swap war stories but I am getting to the age where nostalgia has attractions.
I am leaving in about an hour or so in order to play a TTRPG with friends. I am increasingly dissatisfied with the game system, it is a version of D&D, and the campaign setting is not to my liking but I am with friends and that is enough for now. I make no secret of my increasing dislike for D&D in any version.

No nuclear war yet, no mass roundups of whomever, no hurricanes in Kansas yet. And yet, Trump is still President.
Church was a pain. It is a good thing that Communion is from God and not the Priest. Many years ago, my Father was alive at the time as he attended this service with me so it was before 1977, I got so angry at a sermon that I refused to take communion from that priest. I have gotten upset with sermons since, but I do not refuse communion again.
The TTRPG was a lot of fun this afternoon and evening.
Several people have started following this blog, their blogs are nice but I no longer have the time to be reading a lot of posts on various blogs. I may go through my subscribe list and eliminate a few blogs that I presently follow just in case I find a blog that I really want to follow. But, if you follow me and I do not follow you, it isn’t that you are uninteresting, it is that I am out of time for reading a lot of blogs especially now.
I didn’t watch the Super Bowl, but I did notice that the Patriots won the game in overtime. I may have missed a good game, unlike so many recent ones.

President Trump has not started rounding up anyone, nor has he launched a nuclear war, actually he hasn’t started any wars, and all the left is going nuts.
Spent most of today hunting an apartment. The eviction keeps getting me turned down. Even when I just look at listings, my USAF retirement check is gone with security deposits and first month’s rent. Security deposits are so high that it is almost two months rent. I am going to have to look at much cheaper apartments in less desirable areas. Yes, it is primarily my fault but still.
I am going to be writing tonight for most of the evening. I need to separate the printouts for DREADNOUGHT and GENERATION UPON GENERATION so I can post the first and edit the second. HIGH TREASON is still going to be worked on. What I want to do is be posting one novel, editing the second and writing the rough draft of the third. HIGH TREASON is presently in third place and ELDER’S DILEMA is coming up next. Once that is done, chriostophercolesite.wordpress.com will be just for short stories I think and I will finish out THE GOD’S TALE for regular publication, followed by MAGIC IN THE MONASTRY and the HOUSE FOURTEEN series.

Yet another day goes by and no nuclear war, no mass round-up of minorities, no martial law. Gee, could the opponents of President Trump be wrong?
Still looking for a new apartment. Eviction does do a lot to reduce the opportunities. I will make it through this rough spot though.
I spent most of today running around trying to get tasks done and finding it hard to do because the bus service takes so much time. It does not help when I get to a bus stop just after the bus pulls away and I have to wait for the next one as much as half an hour later. Sitting at an open bus stop with the cold wind blowing is no fun.
The cold weather is wrecking havoc with my joints and the not-properly healed break in my right arm. Now the shoulder where the rod was inserted is acting up as well. It is January and this is going to continue for another couple of months probably. Wouldn’t it be nice to able to just go “Bippity, Boppity, Boo” and fix any problem? Unfortunately, life does not work that way.
Tomorrow the Pima County Election Integrity Commission starts our test of the Risk Limiting Audit System. Unfortunately, the Berkley professor who developed the idea, and who was scheduled to be with us to help understand it, is going to be in Ohio for a court case where he is an expert witness. I am looking forward to the test but I do wish he would be here as I might have questions.

So, the Inauguration was yesterday and the Earth still exists today. Obviously President Trump isn’t as great as his enemies make him out to be. But President Obama was pretty much the same. Not nearly as dangerous as his enemies made him out to be. And the same with President Bush, either one, or President Clinton. Now he may develop into a serious threat, as did the others, but he hasn’t done so yet.
I have been holed up all day working on HIGH TREASON and going through the archives of a web comic I like just to refresh myself on the backstory. Since the comic started in 1999, and with a few exceptions, has been posting twice a week, that is a lot of comics to look at.
My youngest brother, the retired Marine, just left The Gambia where he had been working for a year as a teacher of English as a Second Language. It seems that Senegal is likely to invade because the President of The Gambia won’t give up power after losing an election. In spite of the riots and mayhem over our election and inauguration, we change Presidents much better.
I am looking forward to playing TTRPG tomorrow even though I do not like the horror genre. I have never like the genre as far as I can remember. However, the horror aspects of the game are toned down so it isn’t so bad. I still am not happy about it.
It is still cold for Tucson and I can hear in my mind all the people going “You should see how cold it is here!” I have been in cold weather and I prefer Tucson where it is rarely very cold and even then not for long. Even as short as the time has been, it is still too much for me. You like the cold? I wish you well.
Tomorrow I am training new ushers at church. The task of ushering is a simple one but important as ushers are usually the face of the congregation to newcomers. Plus all the tasks we do during the service. Every job is important, always, but some stand out more than others. And this is not just in church but everywhere.
