He is risen! He is risen indeed!
Years ago, I forget exactly when, it snowed on Easter Sunday here in Tucson – and Easter that year was in mid-April. It didn’t snow today, the weather was beautiful. I enjoyed the service and the event as much as I ever have. One of the hymns was “I am the Bread of Life” and that is one of my favorites. After the service there was fun and games for the children (of all ages) and enjoyable conversation for me.
I now have five chapters of ENTRANCE EXAMINATION up on my other site – christophercolesite.wordpress.com – and I should have DREADNAUGHT chaptered and proof-read by the end of this week so once I finish ENTRANCE EXAMINATION I can start posting DREADNAUGHT. By the time that is finished I should have GENERATIONS UPON GENERATIONS ready. After that, I hope that I have the rest of the space novels finished and can get back to MAGIC IN THE MONASTARY and THE FOURTEENTH HOUSE and a novel I started years ago and lost when my computer crashed about someone who gets what is basically absolute power. Absolute power would get boring after a while, once you have done everything what is there to do? I have some ideas about that novel but as you can tell from earlier in this paragraph, I have a lot to do before then.
I had a lot of problems last week, I live in an apartment complex and some of the families “downstream” of me do not understand that pouring grease and other such gunk down the drain is a bad idea. It too a while for the plumber to clear all the clogs and until then I spent most of my time mopping the water in the bathroom. I still have some cleaning to do but at least the drain doesn’t back up just as soon as I am almost finished mopping.
I really want to attend the Libertarian Party National Convention at the end of May but I cannot afford to do so. Maybe I should start a Go Fund Me campaign and see if I can raise enough money that way. But if I can’t then how do I return the money to the donors? I am going to have to look at the Go Fund Me site and see how that works. I don’t want to raise money and abuse the system. I want to be honest and ethical about this, if I do it.
I am not going to list prayers today, you can if you wish either go to Grace-St. Paul’s website or just reuse what I posted last week. And the reason I am not going to post prayers today is that I feel today is too happy an occasion to be gloomy in prayers. The pain and suffering still exists so I won’t complain if you do pray for the prayer list, I just don’t feel ready for the downer. And, yes, I have in the past posted the prayer list and might in the future as well. It is just today I do not feel like it. This does not mean the need has gone away.

As I finished my post last week I noticed something I should have noticed years ago and now I feel a bit stupid. I have been adding all my posts, regardless of category, on one page when I had the capability to add new pages and separate my personal and political and other posts by page so people could read the post by category. I am deleting the old posts, starting with the oldest, and I will be a bit more intelligent in my postings. Home page on christophercolesite.wordpress.com will be the novel Entrance Examination and I will add other pages there as I finish novels and start posting them chapter by chapter; as well as short stories having their own page, although I won’t have too many short stories – they are nice to read but I do not like writing them, I have trouble finishing a story in the format of a short story, novels are better for me.
Today being Palm Sunday there was a special service at church, it is the 25th anniversary of the merger of Grace Church and St. Paul’s Church. I joined just a couple of years later. I did not walk around the block with most of the congregation as I am still sore from all the walking I did at the air show on the 12th. I don’t mind it, I enjoyed myself, but it will be nice when the soreness ends.
I am a delegate to the Libertarian Party National Convention for Arizona. I just have to figure out how to pay for attending the convention in Orlando Florida at the end of May. Maybe I’ll see if I can raise enough with crowdfunding. I’ll need probably $5,000 and unless I win enough from a lucky lottery ticket, I don’t have it. I am not sure if a crowdfunding project is even legal since attending a political convention is a political event and subject to a bunch of laws designed to keep incumbents in office.
As well as my writing, I should get some of the RPG miniatures I have painted. I did one miniature a couple of weeks ago and it was a horrible job. I’ll start with some of the simple figures such as wolves and small buildings and other simple figures and work my way up to people, where I will have a lot of detail work to do.

Right now I am still sore from yesterday. There was an air show with ground displays this weekend and I went yesterday, I missed the last one two years ago. I have no idea how many miles I walked all day visiting various display aircraft and displays from various organizations. I watched a lot of aircraft perform as well. The Thunderbirds were great as always. But when I got home around 6 PM I was sore. I was sore when I stood, when I sat, when I lay down and when I got up. I went to bed early and got up late and I am still sore. Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself immensely. I chatted with a lot of the people associated with displays about the aircraft and my connection with them or, in the case of the Pima Air and Space Museum, their organization. As I was walking out, after the show closed, I stopped to rest my feet. A man came by and chatted a bit. I noticed that he wore a belt buckle with an F-4 on it. I made a comment about how well the F-4 turns jet fuel into noise and he replied it was great at turning jet fuel into smoke also. It turned out we were assigned to the same wing at the same time. Ubon RTAFB, 8th TFW, 1973-1974. He was the wing Electronic Warfare Officer and I worked the ECM shop. It also turned out that the APS-107, a system I worked on, saved his life. I may not have worked on that specific airplane but it is nice to meet someone whose life I saved, or at least helped to save.
Three chapters are up at my other site: christophercolesite.WordPress.com. I hope people enjoy reading the story and give me some feedback.
If you wish to pray for those on the Grace-St. Paul’s prayer list, you can find that list at gsp.org under the Sunday Bulletins, today’s bulletin. I am just too sore to type the list into this post. I enjoyed the air show and that more than makes up for the soreness. But you can find the list there and please pray for those people and companions, and for the victims of Muslim oppression worldwide also.

I was talking with a woman at church and I told an old, bad joke. Here it is for you: A Roman Catholic man gets engaged to a non-Roman Catholic woman and she proceeds to take absolute control over the wedding: place, time, flowers, etc. He goes along, as if he had a choice. Once the ceremony is over and the reception is finished the two head off to the resort for their first night as husband and wife. Bedtime comes and the new husband grabs some sheets and a pillow and heads for the couch. The new wife asks why is isn’t coming to bed with her. He replies, “Because it is Lent.” Stunned, she stares at him for a moment then shouts, “That is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. To whom and for how long!” The woman I was talking to took a moment with a confused look and then she suddenly “got it” and laughing, an embarrassed laugh but she did laugh. I love bad jokes. When you tell a good joke well, everyone laughs; when you tell a good joke badly, everyone still laughs just not as much; when you tell a bad joke, everyone groans; but when you tell a bad joke well, you get the groans and the laughs.
I have started another blog here on WordPress. The blog name is christopphercolesite.wordpress.com. It is there that I am putting my stories, one chapter or short story at a time. When I selected the theme for the blog I chose one that I thought had the ability to have multiple pages so I could have an About and a separate page for each novel or story. However, it seems that there is just the About page and a single other page. I cannot see how to add pages to the blog. I may have to change themes if I can. As for now, I have two chapters of Entrance Examination posted – I had forgotten how much I hate typing something in that I already wrote.
This coming weekend will have an airshow at DMAFB. I missed it two years ago and am determined to go this year and enjoy myself around airplanes. I will eat too much, probably, and drink too much, probably, and buy too much, most likely. I will enjoy the aircraft show off flying, the Thunderbirds are among the performers, and probably be smiling all day. I joined the USAF in 1967 because of airplanes – it was either that or the USN and my choice was made when I remembered that nobody ever sank an Air Force Base.
